The last of the mohicans

At the end of ESO the teacher gave us the book: The Last of the Mohicans. In theory we had to read it during the summer and then we had to compare with the movie. I didn't read anything during the summer, but I read it two days ago more or less. I know it might have been better to have done the job before but I forgot completely.

Now, I've read the book and I've watched the film.

In my opinion the book give us more information about de war between Great Britain and France. This is the best thing of the book. It explains very good what is the situation of the Indian civilization. But the film is more authentic than the book because you see the war with your eyes and, in my opinion, this is better.
The love story between Cora and Hawk-eye is better in the film. The movie is based more on their love story, however, the book also tell it but it don't give much importance. And for mi, their love story is the most important part of the story.

I'm sorry but I didn't like the book. I prefer another type of stories. But I have to say that it is a book easy to read and easy to understand.

English Interviews

Interview 1:

They are from France. They aren’t on holidays in Figueres, they are doing a trip with their high school. They are having a good time. They don’t know why they choose Catalonia for their trip. They are staying in a Figueres’ hotel. They are with a group of twenty-seven people. They are staying in Catalonia one week. They speak Spanish but they didn’t want to say us any word in Spanish. They don’t know if Spanish people speak good English. In Catalonia, they also have visited Barcelona and Girona. The place they like best is Barcelona, and they don’t know what is the worst place they have visited in Catalonia. When we did the interview they didn’t see the Dali’s Museum yet. They like Spanish and Catalan food. They contributed to the Spanish economy because they have bought some souvenirs. They think Spanish and Catalan people are friendly. They wouldn’t like to come back again.

Interview 2:

He is from Holland. He is on holidays in Figueres and he is having a good time. Every summer he and his wife go to Empuriabrava since 1990. He chose Catalonia for their holidays because in Catalonia there is nice weather, nice people and good eating. He are staying in the Camping International, in Empuriabrava. He’s only with his wife. He is staying in Catalonia for fourteen days, but in July he will come back for four weeks. He doesn’t speak Spanish very well but he can say: Gracias. He thinks young Spanish people speak good English, but older people don’t speak English very well. He has visited Sant Pere Pescador, Figueres, Cadaqués, Barcelona and Madrid. The place he liked best was Barcelona. The place he didn’t like so much is Sant Pere Pescador. He thinks Dali’s Museum is nice. He likes a lot Spanish and Catalan’s food. He hasn’t bought any souvenirs. He thinks Spanish and Catalan’s people are friendly. He is sure that he will come back again.

Interview 3:

He is from France. He isn’t on holidays here, he come here for go to the market. He is having a good time. He don’t know why chose Catalonia. He is staying in his house in Spain. He isn’t with a group. He is staying in Catalonia only for one day. He doesn’t speak Spanish or Catalan. He can say many words in Catalan and Spanish. He doesn’t know if Spanish and Catalan people speak good English because he never speaks English in Catalonia. He has visited other places from Catalonia and Spain. The place he liked most is Madrid and he thinks that all the places are beautiful. He thinks Dali’s museum is nice. He likes the Catalan or Spanish food. He hasn’t bought any souvenirs. He thinks Catalan and Spanish people are very friendly. He will come back again, he comes every week.

Interview 4:

They are from Holland. They are on holidays here and they are having a good time. They choose Catalonia for their holidays because one of them has a daughter here. They are staying in a hotel in Calella de Palafrugell. They are a group, they are six old men. They are in Catalonia for six days. They don’t speak Spanish or catalan but they can say “Muy bien, mi corazón, la policía, guardia civil…” They don’t think that people here speak good English, but one of them say that Núria does it! =) They think that the young generation do that. They have been in Girona and Pals, they like best Figueres. They like everything. They don’t have opinion of the Dali Museum because they haven’t already enter. They like catalan/Spanish food, they said that it isn’t the best food in the world but they like it. They haven’t bought any souvenir. They think that catalan/spanish are friendly. And they will like to come back again

Interview 5:

They are from New Castle. They are on holidays here and they are having a good time. They choose Catalonia for their holidays because is a very good tourist area. They are staying in “Playa Park-Roses”. They are with a group, they are 30 people. They are in Catalonia for nine days. They don’t speak Spanish or catalan and theycan’t say anything. They think that someone here speaks good English. They have been in Barcelona and Calella. They like best Calella. They didn’t like so much Girona. They don’t have opinion of the Dali Museum because they haven’t already enter. They like catalan/Spanish food. They haven’t bought any souvenir yet. They think that catalan/spanish are friendly. And they will like to come back again

My motorcycle

A long time ago my parents asked me if I would like to have a motorbike.
- I don't need a motorbike but if you want to buy one for me it would be great!- I said. I had never stopped to think if I wanted a motorbike.

One week ago my parents were on the computer and I were watching TV. I was a little bit bored so I went to see what were they doing. When I arrive they closed the computer's screen.
- What are you doing? - I said.
- Nothing, nothing.- said my parents.
At that moment I began to suspect that my parents were plotting something.

Two days later they showed me a photo of a scooter, and two days later I found a scooter in my garage.

The scooter is white and it has got some flowers' stickers in the wheel. I was very very very very and very happy. At the top of the motorbike there was a helmet. The helmet is white and it has got an inscription that says: Kiss me lollipop.

I was so excited and I didn't think twice. I get on the bike with my father and I drove a motorbike for the first time in my life! Yes, I know it is forbiden because I don't have my motorbike licence yet but I was but I really wanted to do it.

Beach volleyball trainigs

In the past three Sundays there have been beacho volley trainings.

This trainings are very important because if you are a good player you will go to play beach volleyball in the Spanish Championships defending the Catalan selection.

I didn't go alone at these trainings. I went with Sandra. We have played volleybay for eight years and we thought it's possible that we could go to the Spanish Championship. After the last training I realized that it's impossible. There are a lot of good players and they are better than us. I am a little bit disappointed because I started these trainings very excited and now I'm not.

During this week our trainers will comunicate us who are the six players who will go to the Spanish Campionsihp.

In this Championship only can play three player so the trainers will select three players from the six players they selectionated before. The trainers will do a specialized training in Barcelona and after this training they will decide.

I'm sure I won't be select but I hope that Sandra will be. She is a good player and she is very excited. I think she have possibilities. We need a little bit of lucky! =)

How did I meet my best friend?

I have two best friends, Sandra Martínez and Andrea López.

SANDRA MARTÍNEZ:

I met her when I was seven or eight years old. Our brothers have the same ages and I met Sandra because our brothers were friends. Sandra and I live in the same neighborhood and in this neighborhood there is a park. I met her in that park. I went with my brother to the park and there were Sandra and her brother. Our brothers began to play football together so Sandra and I began to play with the dolls together. Since then we have been best friends.

ANDREA LÓPEZ:

I met Andrea because she was a Sandra's friend. When we were doing Primary School I didn't meet her but when we started the high school we went to the same class. We became friends but I didn't talk a lot with her. It was in the second course when our teacher said that I will sit next to Andrea. During the course I sat next to Andrea. It was a fantastic course! Andrea and I became best friends because we laughed a lot in classes and we did a lot of silly things.

Italy's photo

Italy, a wonderful place.

That week in Italy was amazing. I enjoyed every day to the fullest with my friends and teachers.

In my opinion, Pisa was the worst place we visited. It is a place where there are few things to see and get bored quickly.

Florence. Ooh that most beautiful city. I visited every corner of Florence, laughed a lot with my friends and I became very tired walking. It is a nice mug in which there's plenty to see. Yo I had a great time.

Siena was also good. The friends parted with two groups. We went to buy gifts for family and others were to stroll through Siena. I vividly remember the day we visited Siena. All friends went to eat together, to a pasta restaurant. I remember the restaurant's managers tried to defraud us, but Andrea, Marta and I avoid it. I left very angry that restaurant but my friends made me laugh and I spent my anger.

Rome. The last city we visited in Italy and the most wonderful. They were two days of extreme fatigue and long walks through the city, but Rome is an incredible city. Is very large and there are many places to see and many places where you spend it well.

About Rome, I remember Oriol Julià and I playing with the console in the middle of the street, without worrying about anything.
Only was one bad thing about Rome, and it was the last night. Some students are not well behaved and teachers recorded all the rooms and were angry. Luckily, the next day everything was fine between teachers and students.

This photo has taken the last day of our trip. We came back with an enormous ship. I was very exited because I never have been in a ship.
I slept with Sandra, Laia and Julia in the room and at night, all the students went to the disco. We danced a lot with Quim (the teacher). That night I met an old friend from Vilafranca del Penedes. I talked with her for an hour and we laughed a lot. In this photo we were sunbathing because there was a sunny day.

I won't forget Italy. NEVER!

End of school

End of school.

There are very few days. Specifically, i have twenty-two days for the end of the course.
Not everyone in the class have been together the last four years, but this year we have united more than ever. We have all become friends, we all go to a parties together, we laughed, we had fun, we angried ourselves, and we solved all of our problems.

This course has made me mature, I'm not the immature girl I was before.
We are all united, even teachers. This year has been great with us and have done many things together. The playback, Italy, the day of St Jordi, Grease and all the trips or visits to other cities. I'm right in saying that this year has been the year that we have been better between teachers and students.

Each day that passes is more close to the last day. I must admit, I have fear of losing my friendship with some people. With people I've met this year and have been very helpful to me.

The end of school means the start of high school. I have chosen the high school science. I have a lot of fear to begin next year. It'll have to study hard and that will be more difficult tests. I have fear but I think I can provide, although not with a high note.

The worst thing is that next year won't be my best friends in my class. I have friends who will go with me but my best friends won't be.

We are going to do a dinner in Empuriabrava with all of our teachers. It will be the las time we will stay together. I'm very nervous.
I hope this dinner will be unforggetable!

Playback

Now we are studying 4th of ESO and we have had to do the playback.
I knew I wanted to do some songs with my friends but at first we didn't know what song do, but we solve this problem quickly. The song that we would sing was: When I grow up.
I was very happy so I join many songs, but then I realized that I was too free. I stopped doing some songs, but eventually I was four. These songs are:
-The man comes from the potato
-Predictable
- Wanna be
-When I grow up

Halfway through the course were very worried because the potato When I grow up and we needed a bit of choreography.
The choreography of when I did grow up to fast, but the potato took over. The teachers were also very excited about the potato and helped us to do it. We want to thank the teachers for having helped us so much.

Approached the playback. Everyone was very nervous.
A week, two days, one day. And arrived THE PLAYBACK'S DAY . It was incredible.
We dressed, we combed our hair and we make up. All were very handsome.

After two hours. The playback was over and we enjoyed a lot the playback.
It was a great weekend.
I want another playback!!!

The future of books

In my opinion, the book should not ever disappear. It is a source that you can always trust.
Although at times the book is heavy and it's difficult to read it, a book has more advantages than read internet. For example, if you've ever read a book for school and the light turns off, the computer couldn't be used. Instead, if you take a flashlight you could read calmly the book.

Books also have a bad part. The book is made of paper, and we have to cut many trees to make books. But this is the only disadvantage that I find in a book.
Read in the internet can lead to back pain, headache and, depends on the person who is reading, it is possible that we could not concentrate to read, because that person would probably the messenger on, or facebook, or music.

I have a thing very clear. I will buy me my own books. I enjoy a book if I'm sitting on the soffa and read the book calmly.

Semi-final of Champions Cup

LEG:

In the semi-final of 20th April of 2010 FC Barcelona played against Internazionale. The first match was played in Italy and Internazionale won the match 3-1. The referee was against Barcelona. Internazionale played good but their last goal wasn’t pale. Diego Milito scored the Internazionale’s last goal but he was offside and the referee didn’t say nothing. It is very unfair!

When the match finished I was very angry so I went to sleep quickly.

BACK:

The back of the semi-final was in Barcelona on Wednesday 28th April of 2010. I saw the match at home with my grandfather. I was very nervous because I love FC Barcelona and I wanted their victory. Barça only had to make two goals and they would stay in the Champions Cup’s final. In the fisrt part of the match any player made a goal but I still had hope. Then arrived the second part. Gerard Piqué made a goal for FC Barcelona and all the people in the Camp Nou became crazy. I was very happy because with this goal Barça only had to do the las goal. I remembered tha semi-final of last year. Andrés Iniesta made a goal in the lasts seconds of the match. I thought that Barça could make another goal.

Suddenly Bojan (a player of FC Barcelona) made a goal. It was the goal that brought us to the final. But then the referee annulled the goal. The match finished and FC Barcelona won but FC Barcelona won't go to the Campions' Final.

My expectations to my trip to Italy

Finally arrives my trip to Italy. This Sunday at 3:30h we will be in the bus to Girona's airport. And possibly at nine o'clock we will be in Italy. Sunday to Tuesday is expected a little bit of rain but the other days will be a lot of sun and hot.

In my suitcase I will put a lot of clothes because I think that all my clothes are important. I will put three jeans ans one tracksuit trousers, and for the top I will take seven T-shirts and three jumers because maybe in many days the weather is cold. The two things INSURANCE that I will take to Italy are:

- My make up.

- My fashion sun glasses.

Also I will take one formal dressing and high heel shoes because we will go out at nights, maybe we will go to a disco.

I think that this trip to Italy will be unforgettable. I will enjoy it a lot with my friends and the teachers. I want to know how are the teachers out of class.

We will visit Pisa, Rome, Florence and Sienne. I really want to arrive in Florence, it is the italian city that I most want to visit.

And we will come by a ship!! In the ship will be one disco and also there will be other students. I will see the sea and maybe I will see dolphins, I don't know!

I am very excited!

A song I like

This song is called Day and Night. Its singer is Kid Cudi.

I want to dedicate this song to Andrea Lopez.

She is one of the most important people in my life, along with Sandra, Julia and Anna, but Andrea always has a smile on her lips and the perfect phrase because I laugh during an hour.

I dedicate this song to Andrea because one day while we were doing the research project in my house, we heard this song. We invented a choreography. First we movied the shady, then we moved our head (first right and then left), then we moved our head and our arms, and finally we stood up the chair and we danced like a crazy people.

That day I laughed a lot, and I want to thank Andrea for all the happy moments she has given to me all times and the all times that she has helped me when I need it. So, thanks Andrea.

1. Shakespeare's life



Sheakespeare was born in 26th April 1564, in Stratford, England.

William Shakespeare was born of John Shakespeare, a glover and leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a landed local heiress. William was the third of eight children in the Shakespeare household—three of whom died in childhood. John Shakespeare was a merchant, alderman, and high bailiff of Stratford, during William's early childhood. His fortunes declined in 1570.
At the age of 18, Shakespeare married the 26-year-old Anne Hathaway.

Shakespeare had one son and two twins. Finally, he was 52 years old when he died.

In Shakespeare's life the Queen was Elisabeth I.

A great rival of England during this time was Spain. This country attacked England with the Spanish Armada of Philip II, in 1588.

The Elisabethan era was described as golden because it was the period of the start of the english poetry, theatre, literature and music.



3. Shakespeare's career


Shakespeare wrote 38 plays and 6 poems. One comedy: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Somni d'una nit d'estiu in Catalan). One tragedy: King Lear (El Rei Lear in Catalan). One poem: The Passionate Pilgrim (L'apassionat peregrí in Catalan).



The Globe was Shakespeare's theatre. Its location is in London.

In the Globe are performed the play Kings & Rogues (23th April - 3th October 2010). The first built of the Globe was in 1598. Shakespeare worked there since 1599 to 1613.


The name of this theatre company was Lord Chamberlain's Men. In 1644, the thatre was closed, but Peter Street, a Master Carpenter of the City of London, built the Globe again in 1997.


4. Fame

A lot of Shakespeare words of our vocabulary are used today around the world. Shakespeare is a big influence in our culture!
There is a one phrase very important in play Hamlet: "To be or not to be. That is the question". this is a known phrase.
Another famous word invented by Shakespeare:

The great snowfall of Castelló.

This Monday 8th of March there was a big snowfall in Castelló. We arrived at the institute and began to snow. We couldn't finish the classes and our parents came for us. When I arrived at home I found the fire lit and it was fine. Suddently, the light went out and we were two days without electricity. At night only had the light of the fire and some candles. My family and I went to sleep at nine o'clock in the evening! This is very surprising! :O

The next day there weren't classes, and Sandra, Anna and I went to walk around the village. We prepared a picnic with meat and rice and we went to lunch at the new bridge of Castelló. We have a lot of photos. We didn't stop to take photos until the battery of the camera was finished. After we returned home and we continued withot elecricity. I had to do my homework with candles.

The truth is that these days I've had a great time.

When they were young Part 2

I have done this power point with Andrea López. We interviewed my grandmother, Maria Figueras. With a single afternoon we finished the interview and we just had to write it in the Power Point.

When they were young Part 1

Experiences in my life.

Here are three experiences taht taught me a lesson.


FIRST EXPERIENCE:

Last summer, Adri, Gerard, Sandra and I went to Castelldefels, but we lost and we arrived in Sitges (city next to Castelldefels). We went to Castelldefels for play in a tournament of beach volleyball 2x2. We were two teams, Sandra and I (female team) and Adri and Gerard (male team).
Asking people we arrived to Castelldefels, although we arrived late in the tournament and we were scared because we didn't know if we could play.

The men's team fell to the playoffs, however the women's team (Sandra and I) arrived to the quarterfinals and there we were eliminated. The two girls that eliminated Sandra and me were the winners of the tournament 2x2 female. As a reward they received a weekend hotel with all expenses paid.

Although it was a day we had a little rugged brilliant move. The four friends made a picnic with rice, potato salad and meat muffled on the beach.
It was one of the best days of summer and I have to travel ALWAYS with a GPS! lol!!! =)

SECOND EXPERIENCE:

The last winter I went to snow in Andorra with Sandra. We only rent a snowboard and boots, we didn't rent a helmet because we had too big head. =)

We skied all the weekend. The first day we didn't have good weather, but we could ski. The second day was very sunny and there wasn't wind, it was the perfect day for do snowboard, but then I fell and I wasn't wearing helmet so I hurt my head. Sandra and I finished to do snow and we spending the afternoon in the bar. Because I didn't wear a helmet I couldn't do snow all the day. I learned that I should always wear a helmet or other protection if I want do a risk sport.

THIRD EXPERIENCE:

This summer, Sandra and I went to the Catalonia's championship beach volleyball. We get to reach the semifinals but our opponents were very good. I was desperate and I started to playing badly, Sandra tried to encourage me but she didn't achieve. When the match wasn't finished yet I tried to stop me for touching the ball. I lost hope of winning the match.

In the end we lost the match by beating. Now I know that I sould have done more, becouse for my fault Sandra also lost the match. That day I learned that I have to strive me until the las point of the match.

Book Vs Film

QUESTION 5: Elements.

The first diference between the book and the film is the setting. In the book the story happens in Verona's streets and in the film the story happens in Verona's beach.

Another difference is that in the book, the first confrontation between Capulets Montagues pass on the street, and the film it pass in a petrol station.

In the book people fight with swords and in the film they have changed the swords for guns.

The characters' clothes in the book are medieval and in the film the clothes are latest and modern.

In the film, the Prince of Verona is a policeman, and in the book he isn't a policeman. The film has changed it.

In the film, Mercutio was a black person, and in the book Mercutio wasn't a black person (I know it thanks the drawings of the book).

A book I like.

The last book I read is Two Candles for the Devil. It is a book that I enjoyed immensely. It is a book about angels and demons. It starts with the great adventure of Catherine to discover who is the murderer of his father, who was an angel. At the end of the book, Catherine discovers that she has fallen in love with Angelo, the demon that has helped her to find the killer of her father.

The author is Laura Gallego. I love the way she write. Most of her novels are about love, I think that this is why I like her books so much.

Of all the Laura Gallego's books I read, Two candles for Diabo "Dos Velas para el Diablo" is the most that I liked. I think the author should have much imagination to write a story so exciting and fantastic.

I finished the book one week ago. This is my optative book for spanish class. We hav to read an optative book if we want one point more for the final note. I am very happy to have chosen this book. I've enjoyed it a lot.

Warm-up: Romeo and Juliet

The story of Romeo and Juliet happens in Verona, a city of Italy. Romeo is the son of Montagues and Juliet is the daughter of Capuleto. These two families have always been in conflict. The two youths meet in a party, fall in love and marry secretly. But in the end, their story ends badly. Juliet pretends to commit suicide, but Romeo doesn’t know the truth and he kills himself in the tomb of Juliet. When Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead, she takes Romeo’s dagger and kills herself.

Normaly their parents look for a wife or a husband, young people couldn't decided.

My research project.

This year there is a new subject, the research project. We have to do a very extens project in groups of three. In my group we were Andrea, Peter and me.
We have had many problems because we have different forms of writing but we solved the problems quickly.

My project is about the Mayan civilization. First we explain how live the Mayan civilization and how were their villages and arts. And then we compare the reality with different films about Maya civilization. These films are: 2012 and Apocalypto.
Apocalypto is what has given us more information.

We chose this topic because the Mayan civilization isn't known and people know very little part of their history. Thanks to our teacher, Laura, we were able to present a good project.

We hope that we can get good note, as we have worked very hard on this project.

Carnival 2010

This year we have celebrated the carnival with girls dressed of red hood and boys dressed of woodcutter. We went to the Carnival of Roses, St. Peter, Empuriabrava, Castelló and Fortià. This year we have gone to all the carnivals we have could. We have tried to enjoy it the most.

At first we always dancing behind the carriages. We look for the carriage that have the best music and we stayed there until we go to the multipurpose room, where the party ends.
friends who live in another city and I talk a lot with them. This is the best carnival.

When we go to the multipurpose room, there isn't good music but we have friends who always make us laugh, or boyfriend that it is sure that you will enjoy.
Pity that the carnival has already finished, is one of the best parties of the year.
